It’s the most Eastern of the Cyclades and the closest to Dodecanese. The island has two ports, the picturesque Katapola and the Bay of Egiali with its beautiful sandy beach. The Chora built high on a commanding position is one of the most beautiful of the Cyclades. In Amorgos you can admire the famous Monastery of Chozoviotissa, perched high on a steep perpendicular cliff 300 mt above the sea, it offers to the visitor a quite unique view of the Aegean. There is a good bus service on the island as well as little motor boats that take visitors to the near beaches, so a car is not necessary.
How to get there
Amorgos can be reached by ferry from Pireus and by hydrofoil from Rafina. It is also connected to the other islands of the Cyclades, as well as to Dodecanese
