The island of Corfu became famous as a holiday resort at the beginning of last century. Its geographical position (it’s the closest to Western Europe), rich in natural beauty, its beautiful beaches and the kindness of its inhabitants have soon made of Corfu an important tourist attraction. How to get there
You can fly to Corfu from many European cities and there are frequent flights from Athens. Corfu can be reached by ferry from Italy (Ancona, Brindisi, Bari, Otranto) and from Greece ( Patras and Igoumenitsa). From Corfu there is a ferry service to the islands of Paxi and Antipaxi , Ithaca and Cephalonia and in the summer there are flights to Zakinthos.
